With Huzzle Cast Key III from Hanayama, you get an elegant and extremely challenging metal brain teaser at Level 6 – Grand Master. At first glance, it looks like a flat puzzle where three keys simply need to be pulled out of the holder. But as always with Hanayama, the solution is far more advanced than the shape suggests.
Three keys locked in one frame
Cast Key III consists of three key-shaped metal pieces locked in a compact frame. The task is to free the keys and then reassemble the puzzle into its original form.
It sounds simple, but the small movements, angles, and hidden limitations make it a serious challenge. Here you don't need strength, but patience, precision, and the ability to see how the three keys affect each other.
A new version of a classic
Cast Key III builds on Cast Oskar, which was first launched in 1987 and later became popular among puzzle collectors. Hanayama has now revived the idea as Cast Key III with new mechanical details and extra cunning elements.
This makes it interesting for new Hanayama fans and for collectors who know the older Cast models. The classic idea is preserved, but the challenge has been updated to a modern Grand Master puzzle.
Designed by Oskar van Deventer
Cast Key III is designed by the Dutch puzzle designer Oskar van Deventer, who is also behind several well-known and demanding mechanical brain teasers. The model was launched by Hanayama in August 2024 and has the official rank code HZ 6-11.
With its Level 6 difficulty, Cast Key III is among the most difficult models in the Huzzle series. It is therefore ideal for experienced puzzle fans who have already tried easier metal puzzles and want a true Grand Master challenge.
